Pink Computers: More Than Just A Fashion Statement
What do our computers say about us? Have colorful computers become a fashion accessory? Thirteen years ago a PC technician would have rarely encountered a machine of any other color than white, or black. Not that it wasn’t allowed, it simply just wasn’t common. Now you can get a pink notebook computer as easily as a black one.
The number of laptops, and desktops in peoples homes has grown over the years. Around the year 2000 it seems like everyone suddenly realized that they could colorize their PC. Enthusiasts started making the patterns for themselves, but eventually everyone hopped on board. There are many colors to choose from today, and many variants of pink.
Modern society takes a look at a man’s home, or yard to tell us about him. For the computer world, the color of a side panel, or laptop backing does much the same thing. It’s also a source of pride for some, for others it’s a religion. Some people just love to customize for the sheer fun of it.
Bright vibrant colors are more commonly associated with artists, light easy colors with easygoing people, and darker colors for corporate workers. The patterns mixed in with the color may also give hints to a persons personality. Some sketches combined with certain colors may indicate a darker mooded person. Others may use the back of their laptop as a sketchpad for their ideas.
When manufacturers took note of people customizing the machines they owned, they decided to pick up on it. Many of the major vendors offer pre-made sketches, and outlines to choose from. Some employ official artists to come up with new and exciting patterns. They also offer basic non-pattern colors as well.
One of the colors that everyone seems to really like is pink. The infatuation with pink really seems to have gotten quite large. If you pay attention, it might appear that almost every other person has a pink laptop, mouse, flash drive, or external hard drive. It’s not just women, many men like the color as well.
We really have come along way with technology when you stop and look back. It’s good to see that creativity hasn’t died with the advancement of it. People are always finding ways to make new color schemes, themes, and patterns. Some of them may be revolting to some but its just personal taste. One thing is for certain though the color pink will continue to coat computer, and laptop cases everywhere for some time to come.
